7,280-acre scenic reservoir on Henry's Fork. Rainbows, cutthroat, kokanee, and even bass in warmer shallows. Gateway to Yellowstone area fishing.

Species: Rainbow Trout, Cutthroat Trout, Kokanee Salmon, Smallmouth Bass. Difficulty: beginner. Approachable for first-timers and families.

Best timing: Summer and Fall. Summer fishes best at first light and late evening; midday is technical. Fall is prime — heavy feeding before winter, fewer crowds.
