Dog Creek Reservoir

A 54-acre high desert reservoir stocked with Tiger Muskie, rainbow trout, bluegill, largemouth bass, yellow perch, and channel catfish. Features an ADA-accessible dock. Popular warmwater and trout fishery with diverse species.

Species: Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, Yellow Perch, Channel Catfish, Rainbow Trout, Tiger Muskie. Difficulty: intermediate. Some experience pays off here.

Best timing: Spring and Summer and Fall. Spring fishing keys on warming water and emerging insects. Summer fishes best at first light and late evening; midday is technical. Fall is prime — heavy feeding before winter, fewer crowds.

Regulations: Magic Valley Region Bag Limits. Tiger Muskie limit 2, none under 40 inches. Always confirm with the current IDFG rule book before fishing.

The Magic Valley sits on top of the Snake River Plain aquifer — meaning constant-temperature springs that produce some of the West's best small-stream trout fishing.
