Idaho Fish and Game Resources When the Website Is Limited
Find official Idaho fishing and hunting rules, license resources, and contacts when Fish and Game's full website is unavailable.
When Idaho Fish and Game's main website is limited, start with the agency's official information page. On October 31, 2026, it displayed a maintenance notice and links to rules, licensing, and regional offices. Individual pages and services may behave differently, and availability can change without notice.
Find the rules for your trip
The agency's information page links to its published regulations. For the period shown on the documents, you can consult the 2025–2027 fishing seasons and rules and 2026 big game seasons and rules. These are not a substitute for later corrections, emergency changes, water-specific rules, or clarification from the agency. Check the official page and contact an appropriate regional office before relying on a rule for a trip.
For example, when planning to fish a particular lake, first identify the water and the date of your trip. Check the general regulations and any applicable water-specific exception. If you cannot confirm a rule, contact Fish and Game before fishing rather than assuming a limit or season.
Licenses, tags, and mandatory reports
Fish and Game directs customers to Go Outdoors Idaho and the Go Outdoors Idaho mobile app for licensing and mandatory hunter reports. The agency also lists regional offices and license vendors as in-person options. Availability, eligibility and transaction requirements depend on the official system; Roam Idaho cannot issue licenses, tags or permits.
Use Roam Idaho to plan, then verify
Roam Idaho's fishing guides and hunting guides can help you organize a destination, explore available reference information and find related resources. Some interactive maps require a paid plan. Our information may be a previously collected snapshot, not a live official record, and it may not reflect current closures, emergency orders, stocking, or regulation changes. Check access permissions, land-manager notices and the latest rules before leaving.
If you still need an answer
The Fish and Game information page lists regional office contacts. Its headquarters number is 208-334-3700; its Southwest Region office in Nampa is 208-465-8465. Ask the office responsible for the water, unit, or activity you plan to visit. For emergencies, call 911.
