Those portions of CUSTER and LEMHI COUNTIES within the Salmon and Pahsimeroi River drainages east of the Salmon River upstream from, but excluding, the Poison Creek drainage and north and east of the Ellis-May-Howe Highway.
The Lemhi zone covers the high, dry country between the Lemhi and Lost River Ranges, with broad valleys and steep mountain flanks. Elk populations are healthy and visibility is good — a glass-and-stalk zone more than a brush-busting zone.
Salmon is the closest supply town. Many roads cross BLM-private mosaic; check ownership before scouting.
